'He's become bigger than the club' – Man United fans on Twitter terrified star man will leave

- The Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are worried. Despite their status as one of the very biggest clubs in the world, constant rumours linking David De Gea to Real Madrid over the years have refused to die down and the punters propping up our bar are fearing the worst.  That’s because Spain boss Julen Lopetegui has been appointed as the new coach at the Santiago Bernabeu and the pair have obviously worked together at international level. Furthermore, reports in the Daily Mail suggest the former Porto boss shares a strong relationship with De Dea and could make another move to lure him to the club. Though United are working their way back to the old days under Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid are clearly another level. Having won three Champions League titles in a row, Los Blancos are quite obviously at the top of the club game right now and the lure for Spanish players to represent them must be great. So, having said that, here’s a look at how United fans on Twitter went into meltdown. This one that Spain coach is going to Madrid, I hope he won't seduce David De Gea??? Am scared ooooo #Mufc — Mathew kevin (@kelzionjnr) June 13, 2018 Get Isco and Varane in return please. Or at least one of them. Or even Bale. De Gea will surely leave. I can feel it. — Arun (@rsnarun) June 13, 2018 Don't mind De gea leaving tbf. He's become bigger than the club now and deserves better than playing with garbage like smalling, Jones, young etc. If he wants to leave should be allowed to — Mihir (@mihirh) June 13, 2018 Julen Lopetegui's appointment as Madrid's manager plus David De Gea's recent comments doesn't look promising for United. I feel he will move if #RMCF make an offer. And this time #MUFC won't be able to stop him! — Chirag Gupta (@ChiragG14) June 13, 2018 Over the last few days, De Gea looking more and more likely to leave Utd. IMO at the same time making it more likely that Bale /Ronaldo will join us.. — Phil (@philstandish) June 13, 2018
