West Ham United Keeper Is On The Radar Of Bournemouth: Should Moyes Cut Him Loose?

In a recent tweet, Sky Sports presenter Dharmesh Seth claimed that West Ham United keeper Darren Randolph is on the radar of Bournemouth. It has been claimed that the Cherries are in talks with the Hammers to sign the experienced custodian. Bournemouth in talks with West Ham United over the permanent signing of keeper Darren Randolph. Randolph has entered final 6 months of his contract & will provide competition for Mark Travers & Neto. #AFCB #WHUFC — Dharmesh Sheth (@skysports_sheth) January 24, 2023 Randolph’s Growing Struggles At West Ham This Season Randolph has struggled to get any real game time at the London Stadium during this campaign. He has often found himself behind Lukasz Fabianski in David Moyes’ pecking order of late. The Republic of Ireland international has made 52 appearances for the Hammers this season, conceding 75 goals and securing 15 clean sheets in all competitions. He has served as a decent number-two goalkeeping option for them so far but has failed to earn any playing minutes in English football this season. His current contract at the East London club is set to run out at the end of this campaign. Thus, it makes sense for West Ham boss David Moyes to let him go on the cheap before the end of this transfer window rather than lose him as a free agent next summer. London Stadium Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Cut Randolph Loose This Month? Randolph can be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks when he is playing well with confidence on the field. He is a solid handler of the ball and has got decent reflexes that help him pull off a few decent saves at the back. The Irish talent has a wealth of experience under his belt and would have a decent chance at earning more playing time at a club like Bournemouth. Thus, it makes sense for the player to seek a move away from West Ham during this winter transfer period. Randolph is currently surplus to requirements at the London Stadium with David Moyes often opting to not play him. He is under contract at the East London club until next summer. Hence, it is a no-brainer for the Hammers to cut him loose before the end of this month. At 35, Randolph is about to enter the twilight years of his playing career, so it is only fair to him if the London side lets him leave soon. Moyes should rather use the money generated from his potential sale to strengthen other areas of his match-day squad so that his team are capable of having a better second half to this Premier League campaign.
