Arsene Wenger is ‘not in the conversation’ when it comes to Premier League managers with great legacies, according to Graeme Souness. The legendary Scot instead named Manchester Unite icon Sir Alex Ferguson and Man City head coach Pep Guardiola as the two most influential bosses the division has seen as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. Wenger’s legacy isn’t up there with the best, says SounessGetty Souness instead named Guardiola and Ferguson as the greatsgetty Wenger holds the record as the longest serving manager in the division’s history, managing Arsenal from 1996 to 2018. In that time he won the top-flight title three times, whilst lifting the FA Cup on seven occasions and reaching the Champions League final in 2006. Many consider his greatest achievement as leading the Gunners to the 2003/04 title without losing a game, seeing his side dubbed ‘The Invincibles’ for the feat, which still hasn’t been matched. But according to Liverpool and Rangers legend Souness, his impact is far less than that of Ferguson and Guardiola. When asked if Wenger has a legacy like the pair, Souness said: “No not for me.  “I think he had a fantastic 10 years, but he did inherit the best back-five arguably in world football. He had a knowledge of French football when France produced the best group of players in the history of French football and he had an insight before anyone else did.
