Manchester United’s last meeting against Chelsea saw them break an unwanted Premier League record as Cole Palmer took centre stage.
The Red Devils found themselves 2-0 down after just 19 minutes of play at Stamford Bridge but quickly drew level before the break.
Alejandro Garnacho scored midway through the second half to put United in front and set them on course for all three points.
However, two minutes of stoppage-time madness saw them collapse and leave west London with nothing to show for their efforts.
Diogo Dalot fouled Noni Madueke inside the area and Palmer was the man to score from 12 yards in the tenth minute of added time.
Chelsea didn’t stop there – as a breakaway move saw Carney Chukwuemeka’s shot deflect behind for a last-gasp corner.
Enzo Fernandez caught the United defence napping and fed the ball to Palmer, who fired in off Scott McTominay for the dramatic winner.
His goal was scored in the 11th minute of stoppage-time and sent Chelsea fans wild as they pulled off a thrilling comeback.
United’s capitulation is the latest ever collapse in Premier League history as they led on 99 minutes and 17 seconds and failed to win.
Sheffield United previously held the record after conceding in the eighth and tenth minutes of added time at Tottenham earlier in the season.
Palmer, the former Manchester City star who admitted afterwards that he supported United growing up, also made history that night.
His winning goal is the latest ever scored in the Premier League and one that has made Chelsea’s 4-3 victory an all-time classic.
It also completed the 22-year-old’s hat-trick, the first of three he has netted for the Blues since he arrived in the summer of 2023.
