Erik ten Hag hints at shock new role for Jadon Sancho as Manchester United boss makes major admission

Jadon Sancho could be handed a shock new role for Manchester United at the start of the Premier League season.
Sancho started for the Red Devils in their 3-0 pre-season friendly defeat to Liverpool in their final match on their US tour.
The winger held clear the air talks with Erik ten Hag this summer following a highly-publicised fallout.
Sancho has not played a competitive match for United since last year after he accused Ten Hag of lying over the reason for his absence from the squad that faced Arsenal last September.
He went out on loan to Borussia Dortmund for the second half of the 2023/24 season, but has rejoined the United fold this summer.
Now with Rasmus Hojlund injured, Ten Hag has hinted he could play as a false nine to start the season.
Joshua Zirkzee has signed for £36.5million, but may not be ready to come straight in.
Man United will face Man City in the Community Shied at Wembley next Saturday.
Ten Hag said: "That is what we can do if we don’t have the availability of Rasmus.
"We know he can play in wide areas, but also as a false striker, he’s an option.
"But of course, Joshua Zirkzee, he is coming in, he has started training.
"But consider that he is not so long in training, so that will take time, and he has to adapt to English football and our way of playing as well.
"So there is also, of course, Jadon, as a striker."
Sancho himself is glad to be back in the fold at United, and he told MUTV: "Definitely, 100 per cent. 100 per cent, yes.
"It’s been nice, enjoying the weather, back with the lads, it’s been good. I love the facilities in America.
"Obviously when I have time off, I usually come to America. This is actually one of the places I do train before pre-season so it’s nice to be back. I wouldn’t say it’s home but yes, it’s a nice facility."
