Tottenham approach Barcelona for shock Brennan Johnson alternative but could face Chelsea competition

Tottenham are reportedly in shock talks to sign Barcelona winger Ansu Fati on loan.

The 20-year-old has fallen out of favour under boss Xavi – featuring in just 47 minutes of LaLiga action this season.

Tipped to become Lionel Messi’s successor at the Nou Camp, the Spain international has failed to replicate his early success at the club.

And now the Blaugrana’s No.10 could be set to make the move to the Premier League before the transfer window closes later this week.

Spurs are keen to sign Brennan Johnson but Nottingham Forest want £50million and Fati could present a more realistic alternative before Friday's deadline.

According to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano, Spurs and Barcelona are in negotiations regarding a loan deal.

Barca want 100 per cent of Fati’s wages covered by the north London outfit.

It has also been said that Chelsea have been offered the player.

However the Blues are yet to turn their interest into a formal bid.

Fati featured in a pre-season friendly between Tottenham and Barcelona, scoring the third goal in a 4-2 win for the Spanish giants.
