Negotiations ongoing to buy Leeds United player for just €6m – Whites need to be strong

Rasmus Kristensen moved on loan from Leeds United to Eintracht Frankfurt last summer, with the Bundesliga club negotiating a €15m buying option.

Since then he’s played 27 matches, starting the vast majority of those and has been praised as one of the leaders for the German side.

So therefore, Eintracht Frankfurt will be rushing to use that €15m clause to buy the 27-year-old… right? Nein.

As was reported back in January, Eintracht want to pay ‘well under €10m’ for Kristensen, with Bild now reporting the actual figure they’re looking at.

The German newspaper explain that with the close of the winter market, Eintracht are getting ready for the summer. Sports director Markus Krösche has one major aim: Rasmus Kristensen!

Ok, so now he’s such a major target, Eintracht will realise that pushing for a fee of much less than €10m is frankly rude given the €15m agreed… right? Nein.

The Bundesliga’s third placed club instead want to pay something around €6m and are in negotiations with Leeds United to make that happen.

Kristensen is described as ‘an absolute regular, a leader and an indispensable part of the dressing room‘ for the club trying to pay just over a third of what they agreed, and it’s insinuated that his desire to stay in Frankfurt could help the talks with Leeds United.
