Graham Potter’s Chelsea and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United could bid for Arsenal target Denzel Dumfries in the January transfer window, according to CMW.

Manchester United and Chelsea could bid for Arsenal target Denzel Dumfries

The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing Dumfries from Inter Milan in January.

Former Serie A champions Inter value the Netherlands international full-back at €50 million (£43 million).

This report will come as a blow for Arsenal, who have also been linked with the 26-year-old former PSV star, who can operate as a centre-back as well.

Earlier this month, CMW claimed that Arsenal are willing to pay £31 million to sign Dumfries, who is part of the Netherlands team at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, if Chelsea, Manchester United or Arsenal pay what Inter Milan want for Denzel Dumfries, then a transfer could well happen in the January transfer window.

Yes, Inter are a massive club who are aiming to at least finish in the UEFA Champions League table in the Serie A table this season, but money talks.

Dumfries himself could be tempted to move to a top club in England.

The defender has made 13 starts and two substitute appearances in Serie A for Inter so far this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process.

Dumfries has also made four starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League this campaign, scoring one goal in the process.
