90+5' - Final whistle, Bournemouth have beaten Everton 2-0. The Toffees hit the woodwork three times in a frantic second half spell, but the awful first half has damned them to an FA Cup exit.

90+3' - Bad mistake from Alcaraz trying to charge Kluivert and loses the ball to the hot striker, who tries to chip Pickford from distance instead of passing to two unmarked teammates.

90+2' - Beto fouled, Brooks booked for kicking the ball away. Young hits it deep, Ndiaye puts it back into the box, falls to O'Brien who can't control it, goes out.

89' - O'Brien with a better cross this time, Keane gets under it and cannot control his header, over.
Freekick, ball into the box, Harrison controls at the back post but his chipped cross goes out. Four minutes to be added on here.

87' - Semenyo barges Harrison over to win a throw-in, and then Kerkez goes does easily when Harrison is on his back, and the Goodison crowd is angry, as is Ndiaye yelling in the ref's face, and no surprise, he gets booked.

85' - Keane has come on for Gana by the way, and he's playing upfront.
Now Iroegbunam twists and turns at the top of the box, fires a left-footed shot that flies narrowly over, argh.

83' - Foul not given and Kluivert finds Ouattara wide open, Pickford very quick to get off his line to save, then Tarky blocks the cross for a corner.
The corner falls to a striped shirt in the box and Pickford makes another big save! The Cherries have brought on all their big guns by the way.

79' - Harrison fouled by Kerkez on the right side of the box, right at the edge. Chance to get the ball in at the back post? Nope tries to set up Young for a shot from outside the box and it's blocked and cleared.
Now ball falls to Iroegbunam and he hits it over, argh.

76' - POST AGAIN?! Now Everton keep up the pressure, delicious inswinging cross from Harrison on his left foot on the right side, and Kepa is beaten, and the ball comes back off the post. The Toffees have hit the woodwork three times now in six minutes.

73' - What is happening here?!! Lovely corner flicked on, Semenyo clears off the line, Alcaraz finds Harrison whose cross to the far post is perfect for O'Brien, his header comes back off the post!
Iroegbunam had come on for Garner there by the way.

70' - Oooh now Charly sets off with the ball and running hard at Bournemouth, wins a freekick about 28 or so yards out, central location. Harrison and Charly standing over it. Alcaraz takes it.. off the post, top bins, oh my God. Right-footed, swung beautifully, Kepa not a chance.

69' - Charly wins the ball, to Beto who sees Harrison in space, delightful inswinging cross just not enough Blues in the box.

67' - Semenyo plays Kerkez into acres of space as Everton get caught pushing up, he skirts Tarky and Pickford sticks out a foot to save, ball in the air and a Cherries player heads it goalwards but Branthwaite makes a blocking header, ball bounces out off the top of the bar for a corner. Corner is cleared, whew.

64' - Iraola blinks first, and makes the change with youngster Winterburn coming off and Player of the Month Patrick Kluivert coming on.
Everton making changes too, with Carlos Alcaraz making his debut, and Jack Harrison on as well. Doucoure and Lindstrom are off.

63' - Everton win the ball in the middle and make a break, comes to Garner and of course his cross is cut out for a corner. The corner is also poor again from Garner and the danger is passed.

60' - A rare foray forward for the Cherries, Ndiaye with a fantastic break, zipping by two players and finding Beto in space, he turns into trouble, ball bounces to Doucs who then runs into a player and hopes for a penalty, nothing doing.
Much, much better from Everton here, as they're now hemming Bournemouth in, but the still unable to to create any real shooting opportunities.

55' - Everton recycle the ball and Goodison has come alive now, but they have had to go all the way back before Zabarnyi fouls Ndiaye and the Toffees have a freekick on the left, about thirty yards out. Poor delivery again from Garner, ugh.
Ball eventually comes out to O'Brien and he tries a deep cross that goes straight out. Not a right back is he?

53' - Doucoure comes rushing down the left, finds Ndiaye in the middle and he's so surprised that Adams missed the ball that he misses it himself, comes to Lindstrom and his shot is blocked for a corner.
Garner's corner is poor and low, poor clearance falls to Doucoure, and his cross is blocked for another corner on the right. Garner again, flicked on and flashes by Tarky's head at the back post.

48' - Beto gets to the ball and sets Ndiaye off on a promising attack, but guess what, the striker came back from an offside position.

46' - Second half underway, no changes that I can see.

Halftime Thoughts - Bournemouth lead Everton 2-0 and the hosts have been terrible defending, and shown nothing whatsoever in the attacking half.

45' - Two minutes added on here and Everton are trying to get something back before the break, but nothing doing. There's the halftime whistle.

43'- Oof, disaster. Everton try to play out of their own box, ball given away, Tarky with another botched clearance and the ball falls to Jebbison. His first shot is saved by Pickford, but it comes back to him and he bundles it home, Branthwaite can't clear off the line, it's 2-0. Ugh. Awful defending, right back to the Dyche era.

42' - Garner does very well to win the ball near his box and then play his way out of trouble, he finds Ndiaye in space but his pass back to Gueye catches the midfielder unawares and he's stranded, allowing the Cherries to attack. Semenyo tries to find the far post but Pickford palms the ball away for a corner that is cleared.

38' - Cherries attacking in numbers, Everton are getting overwhelmed in the middle here. Cross into the middle missed by Gueye, but Branthwaite is switched on to hoof it away.
Now a foul from Garner on the edge of the defensive third. Tavernier overhits it, goalkick.

35' - Beto is isolated up front, struggling to hold the ball or get his teammates involved. The Toffees are getting rushed into making mistakes by that Cherries' press.

31' - Bournemouth are a very well-coached side, and as Kevin had observed in his Opposition Analysis, Iraola's side are happy to cede possession and just press press press, and win the ball back and attack.

28' - Tarky blocks a cross from the left again, corner. Overhit, but the Cherries keep the Blues hemmed in, Semenyo getting booed every time he touches it.

25' - Another Tarky error allows Jebbison to play in Semenyo cutting in from the left, but swings wildly at it and it goes over.

22' - Uh oh. Kerkez finds Semenyo in the left channel, Tarky goes sliding in and the Cherries player goes down, ref John Brooks points to the spot! No VAR to review this, but the Semenyo looked offside.
Semenyo takes it himself, and smashes home. Pickford guessed right, but had no chance on that. 1-0 to the visitors at the quarter mark of the game.

19' - Oh goodness!! Ndiaye dances down the left and is left with only Kepa to beat but runs out of space and the goalie gathers!! Ili stole the ball on the goalline and went through two players, but his nutmeg attempt on Kepa just failed.

17' - Bournemouth's press is heavy at times, and Everton are having to resort to the long ball. Branthwaite's diagonal finds Lindstrom, he cuts back and finds Beto who miskicks his volley. Gana's shot is blocked and wildly hoofed out for an Everton corner on the left. Young inswinger, and Kepa is under pressure and apparently fouled by O'Brien. Goalie went down very easily.

15' - Tarkowski finds Lindstrom with a delightful ball in the right channel, but his cross looking for Beto is overhit.

13' - Freekick to the Cherries just inside the Blues half. Kerkez takes it, overhit and goes out for a goalkick.

10' - Semenyo shot blocked by Gana, out for a corner that Everton clear.

9' - Young has space down the left but Zabarnyi does very well to stop him.

4' - Young and Ndiaye combine well on the left, the former's ball is cut out and Bournemouth can come away.

1' - Underway at Goodison, and this time it's Bournemouth who have a chance to score within the first minute but a couple of key blocks

Appears Mykolenko has tweaked his calf, hopefully just precautionary given that he'll have to go up against Salah on Wednesday in the league.

The 1878s have done a great job adorning Goodison Park once again

Starting Lineups

Everton - Looks like Mykolenko is out injured, Young starts for him. Patterson is out as the Bobble had confirmed previously. New signing Alcaraz is in the squad too, as are youngsters Martin Sherif (striker), Roman Dixon (fullback) and Isaac Heath (winger).

Bournemouth - Iraola goes with former Everton target Jebbison upfront.

Preview

Everton have already tasted defeat twice at the hands of Bournemouth this season, but will be looking to turn things around under the watchful eye of David Moyes today as the two sides meet in an FA Cup Fourth Round tie.

The Blues have seen a turnaround in fortunes since bringing back their former boss after hitting a rut under Sean Dyche, and while Premier League survival remains paramount, there is nothing like a long cup run to galvanise the fanbase, especially given this is the last season the Toffees are playing at the hallowed Goodison Park.

The Cherries however are in scintillating form and will be in no mood to do the home side any sentimental favours. Under Andoni Iraola they have bounced back from a slowish start to stamp their credentials as European contenders.

Last Meeting

Since a big 3-0 win at Goodison against the Cherries early in the 2023-24 season, the Blues have lost three straight to Bournemouth since then, all close one-goal decisions. The last time on Merseyside was early this campaign when Iraola's side mounted an almost impossible comeback from two down with barely five minutes left to win the game 3-2 in time added on.
