Exclusive: Arsenal have made move to sign Stoke City sensation

Arsenal made an enquiry for Stoke City defender Jaden Dixon on transfer deadline day and are continuing to monitor the England Under-18 international, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gunners expressed an interest in the 17-year-old as they looked to fill the void left by Ayden Heaven’s departure to Man United during the January transfer window.

Dixon, who is equally adept at right-back and centre-back, has broken into the Stoke first-team this season and has made six appearances in all competitions for the Championship club.

He joined the Potters after leaving Tottenham’s youth setup in 2023.

Arsenal made move for Heaven replacement in January

The defender sensation played 90 minutes in each of Stoke’s League Cup ties earlier this season until they were eliminated by Southampton in the fourth round.

He is a regular for Stoke’s Under-21 side but could be set for a move to the Emirates Stadium in the near future.

Arsenal are hunting for a replacement for highly-rated Heaven, who has already appeared on the bench for Man United’s senior side under Ruben Amorim.

Arsenal confident of agreeing second summer deal

At the senior level, Mikel Arteta’s side are confident of agreeing another summer deal – with negotiations already advanced for Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi.

Football Insider revealed on 10 February that Arsenal expect to finally land Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia in the off-season.

The Gunners tried to sign Garcia last summer (2024) but instead agreed a loan for Neto – and they will not pursue a permanent move for the Bournemouth star in the summer.
