Leeds United have made a pretty topsy-turvy start to the season.

The Whites have won two of their opening five Championship outings and were beaten 1-0 by Burnley last time out.

Daniel Farke’s men were left ruing missed chances with Mateo Joseph’s skewed one-on-one a particular sliding doors moment in the clash.

Despite Joseph’s enthusiasm and endeavour, he’s lacked a cutting edge in front of goal and his profligate nature is now starting to come to the detriment of the team.

So, to combat that and lift some of their onus off the 20-year-old, Leeds should go out and sign a £10m Premier League striker.

Leeds should try to sign Ross Stewart in January

Matteo Joseph has come into the starting 11 this season after impressing in cameo appearances last term.

Whilst he’s registered three goal involvements in five outings, the Spaniard has struggled to find that killer instinct in front of goal.

Joseph is lacking in composure at the moment, which is understandable given his age, so Leeds should try to bring in the experienced Ross Stewart from Southampton.

Stewart, who celebrated his 28th birthday over the summer, is behind Cameron Archer in the pecking order on the South Coast and could be available come Janaury.

The former Sunderland forward is prolific at Championship level, having netted 10 times in 16 outings during his career.

Ross Stewart would really help Mateo Joseph

Stewart’s experience would really help Joseph and there’d be a lot less pressure on the young Spaniard to perform.

At the moment, Patrick Bamford is the only real competition but he’s been out with a hamstring injury of late.

So there’s clearly a need for another forward to be added to the ranks and Stewart would be the ideal signing.
