After Aston Villa were leading by two goals in their 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup, Unai Emery brought Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford off the bench.
As Asensio pulled out an audacious skill against Tottenham, it seemed clear as day that the Spanish international was fired up for the contest.
Making his debut in such a big game while being given the chance to redeem his career at Villa Park, Marco Asensio cannot afford to rest on his laurels during his loan spell in claret and blue and he showed that with an inspired cameo off the bench.
It seemed like Asensio, described as a “top player” had played with his new teammates at Aston Villa for years as he combined with them at will and instantly helped the hosts up the standard of their display —prompting fans from a variety of Premier League clubs to sing his praises.

A Manchester United supporter lauded Asensio, writing on X: “Marco Asensio is a ridiculous footballer, there was a couple touches he had where I couldn’t believe my eyes.”
Another United fan lauded Asensio and Rashford’s connection, stating: “Do you know how nuts it is that Asensio and Rashford have chemistry already? It's like they've been playing with each other for years.”
An Arsenal fan added: “Asensio balling out right now, he's moving like it's 2018 again.”
Another Arsenal fan commented on Asensio’s debut, ruing that the Gunners could have signed him in the winter transfer window.

Emery will be hoping that Asensio can build on his sparkling display in Aston Villa’s subsequent games.
