Arsenal have a very strong squad, but there are some gaping holes in the side as well.

Indeed, Arsenal do have some areas in which they lack depth.

Many have stated that Arsenal need a striker, while Arsenal are looking at left wing options as well.

Nico Williams has been linked to Arsenal recently, while Rafael Leao is an Arsenal target too.

Left-back is another potential problem position for Arsenal.

Myles Lewis-Skelly earned praise for his performance at full-back against Monaco this week, but that isn't his natural position, nor is it the natural role of Riccardo Calafiori or Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal may want to look at signing a new left-back, and an exciting link on that front has now emerged.

Arsenal monitoring Alphonso Davies

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring Bayern Munich star, Alphonso Davies.

Davies is out of contract in the summer and he's been courted by a number of top clubs across Europe.

Liverpool are keen on Davies too, but perhaps a move to Arsenal would appeal to the Canadian.

Arsenal actually tried to sign Davies before his move to Bayern Munich, and now, they could offer him an escape route from Bavaria.

How fast is Alphonso Davies?

Alphonso Davies made his name at Bayern Munich as one of the most exciting left-backs in world football.

Indeed, Davies' attacking talents seriously caught the eye at Bayern Munich from day one.

The Canadian is one of the quickest players in the game today, and he would be Arsenal's fastest player if he signed for the club.

*Doesn’t play for Arsenal

Arsenal's current quickest player according to this season's data is Ben White, but Davies is even quicker.

That sort of pace is so important in the modern game as top teams prioritise playing high defensive lines, and Davies' ability to recover is unmatched.

Of course, this deal won't be easy to do. Arsenal believe Davies is Real Madrid-bound, and Madrid have been looking at Davies for a long time.

However, the Premier League is the best league in the world, and with Arsenal having a gap in their squad at left-back, maybe, just maybe, the full-back could be headed to north London.
