Leeds United want Arnaud Kalimuendo and boss Jesse Marsch is looking for the Paris Saint-Germain striker to make the move in the next week.

Leeds started their season with a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, coming from a goal down to claim all three points at Elland Road.

The Whites are still seeking new signings though and a striker to compete with Patrick Bamford is an absolute priority.

Charles De Ketelaere has slipped through the net and joined AC Milan instead, but Leeds do still have other targets in mind – such as PSG talent Kalimuendo.

Leeds United want Arnaud Kalimuendo

Leeds have been interested in signing Kalimuendo for most of the summer.

The Independent reported in June that Leeds have launched a £17million bid for Kalimuendo, but that move ended up stalling.

PSG not only appointed a new manager in Christophe Galtier but also a new sporting director as Luis Campos arrived.

Both men had to analyse the PSG squad before making transfer decisions and that has been the case with Kalimuendo.

The 20-year-old forward has featured in pre-season but may not play tons of first-team football and could bring in key funds for PSG.

The Sun now report that Leeds want to secure the signing of Kalimuendo in a deal worth around £22million.

It’s added that boss Marsch would like the deal to be completed inside the next week in order to boost his attacking options.

Leeds travel to face Southampton next weekend and Marsch would like his attacking options wrapped up before making that trip.

Other clubs remain keen on Kalimuendo and getting the move done inside the next week may be a tough ask.

Still, Kalimuendo would be a quality addition to the Leeds attack and a really exciting capture for the future.

21 goals in 65 games on loan at Lens showed Kalimuendo’s attacking ability, and he still has so much untapped potential for Marsch to work with if a Leeds deal can be done.

Joel Robles appears to be coming in and if Kalimuendo joins too, Leeds may only be a left back away from completing a very strong window.
