On the back of Liverpool once again making it to the League Final at Wembley, they turn their attentions to the other domestic cup. The fourth round of the FA Cup takes place on Sunday when the Reds travel to Plymouth to take on Championship side Plymouth Argyle.
These matches are always a good chance for the younger players to get some experience in a competition first team game. It also makes it very hard to guess what the lineup will look like, aside from the fact that it will be Caoimhin Kelleher guarding the goal.
Plymouth Argyle are currently at the bottom of the Championship table, looking at the very real possibility of relegation to League One at the end of the season. Sunday's match will be a big one for the players and their fans, which could mean some trouble for the Reds as they continue their quest to remain in all four competitions this season.
It's hard to think of a team riding higher on momentum right now than Slot's Liverpool. They're in the League Cup final, ended the Champions League stage in first place, and currently sit atop the Premier League table. Nothing is confirmed, and there's still an awful long way to go, and more banana peels to slip on along the way, but it feels hard not to be confident, regardless of what players take the pitch.
Predicted Liverpool Lineup (4-2-3-1)
Kelleher; Gomez, Quansah, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Endo, Mac Allister; Chiesa, Elliott, Diaz; Jota
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out due to his persistent hamstring injury. The other missing Red is young Tyler Morton. The rest of the team is available. It's possible that Conor Bradley will be at right-back with Joe Gomez in the center to give Virgil van Dijk a break.
For Plymouth Argyle, Kornel Szucs, Brendan Galloway, and Joe Edwards are all out of the running for this match.
What the Managers Had to Say
Arne Slot: "I think it's always a tricky tie no matter what team you play because it's an away game, it's their final probably – as is many times when Liverpool comes anywhere. But it is true that if you play with a team that hasn't played so much together that that is always for the players a bit more difficult."
Miron Muslić: "[Slot is] a coach I really admire, he's a coach I look up to, and he's a coach I try to learn [from]. When I see them playing I try to understand what they are doing, what they are preparing."
