Philippe Clement ignores Rangers sack talk with board on his side

Philippe Clement is going to continue in charge at Rangers for now despite fan opinion suggesting that this is not a popular decision.
The manager might well limp on to the summer with the chance of any trophies heading to Ibrox almost nil and the season almost over before the clocks go forwards.
A quick look at the Rangers social media accounts says it all about the current sentiment with Clement responding to the stick that he received from fans after the Scottish Cup exit.

Philippe Clement determined to get Rangers fans back on side
Speaking as part of the pre-match build up to face Hearts, Clement was hurt about fans abusing him but is focussed on trying to get them back on side:
“It’s about the next games, the next months, everything. I know we didn’t want to go out of the cup. I didn’t have any other signal of no backing.
“And that’s the case in football as a manager. So I’m going forward to get the results that we want and also to continue making the development of all the players.
“It’s been the case the last period. We had good results. You guys talked a lot about the away record and it was true also domestically.”
Does Clement understand Rangers?
This time last year, Rangers were top of the Scottish Premiership and in a serious title race.
Injuries saw him robbed of Todd Cantwell, Abdallah Sima, Danilo and Oscar Cortes – his first choice front four at the time – and yet he was still able to get a tune out the players who were left.
Rangers went unbeaten from January until after the first international break in March where a dismal 2-1 defeat to Motherwell signaled the beginning of the end for any hopes of a shock title win.
What Clement fails to realise, is that winning games or the odd spirited performance in Europe does not equate to 'great moments'.
All Rangers fans care about is winning trophies, not some misguided mythology about the "Rangers way".
The Rangers way is winning, and Clement simply hasn't done enough of this over the last 12 months.
