Rangers predicted XI vs Hearts: Cyriel Dessers gets axed with new look front two

Rangers return to league action to face one of the Scottish Premiership's in form teams in Hearts with even a convincing win unlikely to change the sentiment towards Philippe Clement.

The squad has been strengthened by a couple of players returning from injury, however, this wasn't an issue at Ibrox against Queen's Park with the manager taking the brunt of the blame.

Despite one of the worst results in the club's history, Clement remains in charge and this is who he should pick for the trip to Tynecastle.

Rangers predicted XI vs Hearts

Liam Kelly had one shot to deal with last week and will have been angry at himself for letting it squirm through his legs, Jack Butland will return and will be under pressure to perform.

Clement made the unpopular decision to drop Clinton Nsiala, who has looked increasingly impressive since coming into the starting XI.

He should return to the team, but the senior pairing of Robin Propper and John Souttar appears to be the first-choice option for the Gers boss.

In midfield, options are limited, and the pairing of Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande will be asked to go to the well for most of what is left of the season.

The problem Clement has to fix in Rangers' attack

Ahead of them, Nedim Bajrami continues to struggle in the central attacking midfield role, but there aren't many wingers to choose from to let Ianis Hagi move into a central position.

Clement has a real problem on the left wing with Oscar Cortés still not fit which leaves putting a square peg into a round hole or picking a player who is a natural, but maybe not at the same level as regular starters.

Hamza Igamane has looked wasted playing in a deeper role so putting Hagi behind him and either a left back or Ross McCausland seems like the most sensible call to make.

Unfortunately, sense has been in short supply recently.
