A solid display on the road earns the Royals a valuable clean sheet and point in West Yorkshire.

Joel Pereira: 7

Went down clutching his shoulder early on in the game - a serious worry considering how important Pereira is to Reading's results. Got up again and continued but certainly looked uncomfortable when he had to make contact with other players.

Made a strong low save from a central but powerful low shot late in the first half and looked equal to a few efforts that curled around the wrong side of the post.

Made a fantastic stop late on from a curling low shot when Huddersfield got in behind Reading.

Michael Craig: 6

Seemed to have a lot of trouble with his boots in the first half. Sat down on the turf to adjust his first pair, before switching to a second pair when he went down.

Scrapped really hard down the right, jumping forward when he could. Faded as the game went on, but remained solid enough in his defensive duties.

Harlee Dean: 5

Went long down the field to Wareham with his first chance on the ball as the game kicked off, showing the team's willingness to go direct away from home under Hunt. Dean was fine in the air, but struggled to keep up with some of the faster Huddersfield attackers when they could find space.

Left the game in the first half with an apparent injury, to be replaced by Mbengue. May have been replaced at half-time anyway.

Tyler Bindon: 6

Stepped across well to help out Craig when he had been taken out of the play by a take on in the box.

Started the second half really well, jumping out of defence to win the ball and play it forward. Next he thrust himself through a gap to win a tight aerial 50/50 in his box.

Andre Garcia: 6

Cut out the kind of seam pass in the first half that's caused him trouble all season, but did also allow a few crosses into the box.

Made a fantastic defensive play with his speed and agility to strip a dangerous Huddersfield attack early in the second.

Lewis Wing: 6

Very happy to go long with his first touch on the ball, especially in the opening half hour.

Struggled a little with his very tight marking, with Huddersfield unwilling to let him have the ball for long.

Harvey Knibbs: 7

Recovered well early on and made a really important tackle on the edge of the box to deny a Huddersfield shot.

Scrapped hard in the early period of the second half, winning the ball back in the box and able to combine nicely with both Campbell and Camara.

Booked for a nasty lunge in the middle of the pitch that he totally mistimed.

Charlie Savage: 5

Had a chance to set Reading away on the counter attack early in the second half but underhit his pass.

Got a good shot off when it feels to him just outside of the box but couldn't get it the right side of the post.

A little quiet overall today, perhaps unsurprising given he's run himself into the ground recently.

Chem Campbell: 7

Moved up and down the wing helping in buildup and chance creation early on. Linked up nicely with Wareham from a ball played forward early, and got in behind, but chose the wrong pass.

Continued to be a danger to his full back all game though, and earned his man a yellow card with a half hour to go.

Had a chance to shoot in the box after Camara's shot was blocked, but screwballed it just wide.

Jayden Wareham: 6

Played a really nice ball in behind to Campbell in the wide half space with the first ball he could have been reasonably expected to win. Put another nice ball forwards for Camara to get a shot off, helping to create another shot.

A little sloppier on the ball early in the second but still able to knock down balls forward for Reading to contest.

This was one of Wareham's better performances for Reading, and he did his job well before being withdrawn for Kelvin in the second half.

Mamadi Camara: 7

Got a powerful shot off when put into space by Wareham on the left early on.

Chased well today, as probably the most advanced of Reading's two high passers. Got close to winning it off the goalkeeper at one point early in the second.

Put a nice volley just around the post from Wing's delivery around the box.

Again got himself into space nicely and drove inside but waited just a moment too late to take his shot, seeing

Subs

Amadou Mbengue: 6

Made his return from injury earlier than expected in the first half due to Dean's injury.

Had a very taped leg but still had the pace to cut out a dangerous attack in behind in the 55th minute.

Towards the end of the game he made one of his signature bursts down the right wing. Unfortunately it ended with him fouling his opposition, but showed what we've been missing in the past weeks.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan: 5

Replaced Wareham late on but wasn't quite as effective at playing Reading's eights in from balls over the top.

Instead snaked wide a lot, more effective as a presser once the ball was down on the ground. Booked for running into his man after the ball had gone in a perhaps harsh moment.

Kelvin Abrefa: 6

Came on late for Garcia as Reading looked to see the game out.

Billy Bodin: 5

Went on for Camara late in the game but moved out to the right wing to combine with Knibbs. A little clumsy at times but looks fit and tried to get involved in the pressing game.

Unable to affect the game much as Reading shut up shop in the closing stages.

Average: 6/10
