Video: Supporters sing name of Tottenham loanee after 4-1 win, already a fan favourite
Dane Scarlett is already a favourite among Portsmouth fans after a video showed Pompey supporters singing the name of the Tottenham loanee, after starring in a 4-1 win for the League One side over Cambridge United on Tuesday night.
Scarlett, 18, has joined Portsmouth on loan for the 2022-23 campaign, his first move away from Tottenham. He has already clocked up five appearances and while he is yet to open his account, he is clearly having an impression on fans.
Making his first two appearances off the bench against Sheffield Wednesday and Lincoln City, he then got his first start in the Carabao Cup against Cardiff City. Now, he has started the last two games against Cheltenham and Cambridge.
The England Under-19 international has clocked up 10 senior outings for Spurs and his form at Portsmouth, although without a goal, could see him earn more. Indeed, Pompey fans are clearly impressed, judging by this video on Twitter.

Does Scarlett have a chance of breaking into Tottenham’s senior side on a regular basis? Well, if he is to stand any chance, he needs to score goals on a regular basis for Portsmouth. Troy Parrott is above him in the pecking order.
Ireland international Parrott is starring for his country, and scoring goals on loan at Preston after an excellent spell with MK Dons last term. Scarlett needs to shine at this level, then impress on loan in the Championship next term.
That is the only way he is to stand any chance of catching the eye of Antonio Conte. Much like Oliver Skipp, who was sensational with Norwich and earned a place in Tottenham’s senior squad. He has a contract at Spurs until June 2026.
