Portsmouth alongside Plymouth Argyle, Lincoln City in chase for recently released star

Portsmouth, Plymouth Argyle, Lincoln City, Burton Albion and Cambridge United are all interested in free agent winger Mickel Miller, The Star has claimed. Miller, 26, is heading for free agency after confirming back in May that he would be leaving Rotherham United at the end of his contract. The decision to move on opens the door for him to talk with potential suitors ahead of the new season, and it certainly seems as though the winger isn’t short of options this summer. The Star has claimed that Portsmouth, Plymouth Argyle, Lincoln City, Burton Albion and Cambridge United are all keen on Miller. It is said that talks have taken place with the Pilgrims, the Cod Army and the Brewers. Discussions with Pompey have not taken place at this moment in time but it’s added that Miller would be interested in a move to Fratton Park. A smart target… As always, plenty of League One clubs will be looking to make the most of the free transfer market this summer. Former Hamilton Academical man Miller could prove to be a smart pickup too. Injury limited his involvement at times last season but while mainly operating as a left wing-back, the Londoner managed an impressive four goals and six assists in 30 games across all competitions. He can play in a more advanced role as a winger too, providing that tactical versatility that is of great value over the course of a League One campaign. With Portsmouth, Plymouth Argyle, Lincoln City, Burton Albion and Cambridge United all keen, it seems as though there may well be a battle for Miller’s signature this summer.
