Report: £30m Eddie Howe target now wants to join Everton despite offer from West Ham

According to iNews, Newcastle and West Ham target Armando Broja is keen to leave Chelsea for Everton.

What’s the story?

Well, the Albania international has been in the spotlight for most of the summer, after shining during a season-long loan at Southampton last term – the Chelsea No.18 scored six goals in 32 Premier League appearances.

Despite his efforts for the Saints, Broja has only been given 15 minutes of Premier League action by Thomas Tuchel in two games so far this season, which he isn’t satisfied with.

iNews believe the 20-year-old is desperate to play regular first-team football, and is now open to joining Everton after the Toffees made him their No.1 target, as they aim to sign a new striker.

It comes after West Ham made Broja an offer, while Eddie Howe is also keen to have the striker at Newcastle.

In fact, the Magpies are yet to fill their domestic loan spots, with many expecting Chelsea to allow fringe players such as Broja, Conor Gallagher and Callum Hudson-Odoi to leave in the final days of the transfer window.

Chelsea are demanding a sum of £30m if they are to let the Albanian leave on a permanent basis.

However, Newcastle and West Ham have work to do if they are to sign Broja, with Everton seemingly in pole position at the moment.

Forget Newcastle & West Ham – Broja can shine at Everton

In our view, Broja is just what Frank Lampard needs at Everton, and the foundation is there in attack for the youngster to thrive.

The Toffees currently have a very youthful frontline consisting of Anthony Gordon, Dwight McNeil and Demarai Gray, all of whom lack physical presence up top.

However, Broja – a powerful brute of a forward – would help bring the trio into play with his holdup ability and movement, which could really see Lampard’s goal-shy Everton kick into gear.

After two games of the Premier League campaign, the Toffees are yet to score.

Keep an eye on this situation, as Broja’s future should become clear soon.
