Report: Wolves join Lampard, Jesse Marsch & Forest in race to sign £10m man compared to Ronaldo

According to the Daily Mail, Wolves have now joined Everton, Leeds and Nottingham Forest in the race to sign Che Adams from Southampton.

What’s the story?

Well, there is plenty of Premier League interest in the Scotland international, who currently has an uncertain future at Southampton.

Some of the Saints squad believe Ralph Hasenhuttl should have been sacked last season, with many now disillusioned under the Austrian – Adams in particular is said to be keen to leave for Everton.

However, the Toffees certainly do not have a free run at his signature.

Wolves want the 26-year-old after Raul Jimenez suffered an injury, whilst Frank Lampard finds himself with similar needs as Dominic Calvert-Lewin faces a spell on the sidelines.

The Daily Mail believe Southampton are willing to let Adams leave St Mary’s this summer – a fee in the region of £10m has been mentioned.

That would represent a £5m loss for the Saints, who spent £15m when signing the striker from Birmingham in 2019.

Interest in Adams – who has been compared to the Brazilian Ronaldo – comes after he scored just eight goals in 33 appearances last season.

Southampton should take note of Wolves, Everton, Leeds & Nottingham Forest interest

In our view, Southampton would be fools to sell Adams for just £10m with so many Premier League sides interested in his services.

The Leicester-born forward is clearly rated in England’s top-flight, and if this doesn’t make Southampton reconsider their stance on selling him, it should at least make them increase his £10m valuation.

Adams has already proven that he can be deadly if given the right service, after scoring 22 goals in 46 Championship appearances in the 2018/19 campaign, before his move to Southampton.

Keep an eye on this situation, as we expect developments to happen in this transfer saga over the coming days.
