Sheffield United’s transfer plan for talented midfielder revealed

Sheffield United have no plans to send young midfielder Ollie Arblaster out on loan, it has been clarified by Yorkshire Live’s Nathan Hemmingham. Sheffield United have seen some talented youngsters make their way into the youth ranks at Bramall Lane recently. The likes of Kyron Gordon, Will Osula, Daniel Jebbison, Kacper Lopata, Zak Brunt and more all look as though they have bright futures in the game, as does Sheffield-born midfielder Arblaster. He has impressed for the club’s U18s before and made a decent impression on loan with Bradford Park Avenue too. Now, the club’s plan for Arblaster has emerged. Speaking in a fan Q&A for Yorkshire Live, reporter Hemmingham stated that there is no plan to send Arblaster out on loan this summer. Manager Paul Heckingbottom is keen for him to remain in and around the senior squad as it stands. The next generation… Sheffield United midfielders James Norwood and John Fleck have been the go-to men in the middle of the park for some time now. Sander Berge, Ben Osborn, Tommy Doyle (loan) and the currently injured Ismaila Couliably are the other options in midfield at the moment. However, the time will eventually come for the next generation to push through, with Norwood and Fleck now 31 and 30 respectively. Arblaster will be hoping to prove that he can be the player to assume a first-team role in the future. He is yet to make his debut for the Blades and there’s plenty of time for him to develop his game, but Heckingbottom’s current stance over his immediate future can only be a good thing.
