'Has Redknapp all over it' – West Ham United fans react on Twitter to David Sullivan report

West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story, written by Ken Dyer in the Evening Standard, claiming that the club’s co-owner, David Sullivan, is to take a step back from West Ham’s transfer dealings as the club look to appoint an experienced director of football amid protests from the fans against the owners. The West Ham fans propping our bar up have had an ongoing feud with their owners, David Gold, David Sullivan and Karen Brady, for a number of years as poor transfer dealings and the club’s move from the Boleyn Ground to The London Stadium have left a sour taste in the mouths of those associated with the Stratford club. The apparent decision to appoint a DOF has come after increased pressure for change reached boiling point in last weekend’s 3-0 home loss to Burnley. The story claims that the club won’t appoint a director of football until they’ve decided on the future of current manager, David Moyes. Moyes was appointed as Slaven Bilic’s successor in November last year and had seen an improvement on the pitch up until a few weeks ago. In the last three weeks, the club has lost 4-1 to Liverpool and Swansea and 3-0 to Burnley, prompting wild protests from our resident Hammers. Its a good step, but they need to back this person financially. — J Pereira (@IronsManJP) March 13, 2018 Why wait till the end of the season. I'm sure Sullivan would rather do it now so he can pass the blame if we get relegated. — Eddie Fensome (@EddieFensome) March 13, 2018 I'm quite happy with this tbh. If they actually do it — Ciaran (@CiaranWHUFC) 13 March 2018 Well that's progress… glacial but I guess the ice age cleared eventually. We can only hope this lot move on a little quicker. — WarpaintAviationArt (@WarpaintArt) March 13, 2018 This has redknapp all over it — Jamie (@jamiesandison1) March 13, 2018 So he can pass the blame — Nicola Meyer (@NicolaMeyer7) March 13, 2018
