Eternal European kings Real Madrid got their revenge on the reigning champions Wednesday, beating Manchester City 4-3 on penalties to return to the Champions League semifinals. The engrossing quarterfinal clash was level at four apiece on aggregate before Carlo Ancelotti's side emerged victorious in the shootout, with defender Antonio Rudiger slotting home the decisive effort at the Etihad.

Madrid will now meet Bayern Munich in the semis.
