‘He’s huge for our club’ – Everton defender Conor Coady comments on latest Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury and reveals he’s ‘gutted’ James Tarkowski and

Conor Coady has revealed the Everton team are rallying behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin following the striker’s latest injury setback. A knee knock saw the England international miss the start of the season, with the 25-year-old now suffering from shoulder and hamstring problems. But the same thing happened ten days later against Fulham, and despite playing through the pain, he then injured his hamstring in the recent win over Leicester. Toffees boss Frank Lampard has declared that he is hoping for the centre-forward to return against Wolves on Boxing Day. And Coady, who only lauded Calvert-Lewin last month following his first goal of the campaign, has had his say on his teammates’ latest blow. He told talkSPORT: “Massive, it’s massive. I can’t tell you how big he is for our club, he’s huge for our club. “We’re with him every step of the way, we are in terms of the injuries he’s had in the past and we’re there to push him as much as we possibly can. But the same couldn’t be said for his teammate James Tarkowski and Aston Villa ace Tyrone Mings. And Coady has revealed how he has been left ‘gutted’ by the duo being omitted by Southgate. We were all gutted for him, and it’s the same with Mings as well. “Mings is one of my best mates and I speak to him most days, he’s a fantastic person, fantastic character and a fantastic player. “I spoke with him obviously since it came out yesterday and listen as I said before, I think everybody’s disappointed when one of your friends don’t get in it. “But I’m sure they’ll be cheering everybody on.” talkSPORT BET OFFER OF THE DAY Bet £10 Get £30 In Free Bets* – CLAIM HERE 18+ Opt in, bet £10+ at odds 2.00+, in 7 days.
