Erik ten Hag left the media stunned after walking out of his press conference mid-question.

The Dutchman was performing his post-match duties following Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

It was a result that did their hopes of qualifying for Europe no favours whatsoever.

Without a win in their last four, United appear resigned to missing out on Champions League qualification, as they trail Aston Villa in fourth place by ten points.

United are currently sitting in seventh position in the table – two points ahead of West Ham in eighth.

Chelsea sit ninth – six points behind the Red Devils – but with two games in hand, there’s a genuine possibility that Ten Hag’s side could sink further down the table.

While they remain in Europa League contention, anything lower than seventh place after 38 games would represent their worst finish in the Premier League.

This question was put to Ten Hag in his post-match press conference, with a reporter saying: “Erik there's a danger you get caught in seventh place.

“If you fall below seventh place that would be the worst finish in Premier League history for United.

"Do you think you're going to be above…"

Ten Hag then swiftly left the press conference with reporters left stunned

However Ten Hag didn’t let him finish his question, promptly replying: “I don't comment. I don’t take that question. That is not that important for this moment."

While speaking, Ten Hag stood up before walking away from his chair and towards the exit.

Out of shot, the reporter remarked: “I tried.”

Next up for United is an FA Cup semi-final clash against Championship side Coventry at Wembley.

A win would see them reach the final of the famous domestic trophy for the second season running.

And they could face holders and rivals Manchester City yet again, with Pep Guardiola’s men to battle Chelsea in the last-four.
