Tottenham captain Heung-Min Son gives injury update after knock during South Korea victory

Heung-Min Son picked up an injury on international duty for South Korea, but was quick to diminish the fears of Tottenham fans.
The 31-year-old scored in his country’s 5-0 win against Singapore in the Asian World Cup qualifiers for the 2026 tournament.
It proved to be a stressful ending for Son though as he went down in the latter stages of the victory with an injury.
Holding his right ankle and limping to the sidelines for treatment, it looked as though the Spurs star may have had to go off early.
However, Son stayed on the pitch until the full-time whistle and was on hand to provide an update on his knock after the win.
Speaking to reporters, he said: “We are making a team for the World Cup, I can’t give up a game just because I feel pain.
“If I can’t run anymore, then I can’t do anything about it but when I can run, I have to give 100 per cent for the team.
"I am fine now, I don’t like to lie down [on the pitch] in the winter. At that moment [going down] I couldn’t feel anything on my foot. I'm fine, no injury.”
Fellow Premier League star Hwang Hee-Chan also found the back of the net for South Korea, with the Wolves star scoring their second.
Son netted the third en route to a comfortable win which takes them top of qualifying Group C after one game.
Their second game of the international break and group will come against China, with Son set to play before he returns to the Spurs.
He has played a key role in the north London side’s success under Ange Postecoglou this season, with the club fourth in the Premier League table.
Son has scored eight goals in 13 appearances, including a hat-trick in their 5-2 win away at Burnley.
Spurs approached the international break unbeaten but fell to two successive defeats against Chelsea and Wolves to end their run.
