West Ham fans left bemused as they believe Jarrod Bowen invented bizarre new word in interview

Jarrod Bowen seems keen to expand his vocabulary as he appeared to invent a new word during a post-match interview for West Ham.

The winger starred in the Hammers’ 3-1 Carabao Cup win over Arsenal to set up a quarter-final clash against Liverpool.

Bowen scored the third goal of the game as David Moyes’ side breezed past the Premier League title challengers on home turf.

Following the victory, he was on media duties and spoke of West Ham’s chances of winning some more silverware this season.

“We knew what was at stake, we had the pleasure of winning a trophy in the summer,” he told Sky Sports.

“I think when you’re in so many cup competitions, domestically and Europeanly, we want to have a chance of winning a trophy.”

Fans were quick to notice his choice of wording and took to social media to see if anyone else had spotted his use of English.

On X, one fan with a laughing emoji asked: “Europeanly? Is that even a word? Well done squire.”

“Did Jarrod Bowen say ‘domestically and Europeanly’ ?!” asked a confused second.

A third, who thinks the West Ham star is adding to the English language, said: “Jarrod Bowen just coined the word Europeanly.”
