CCC: Alger eye first-leg advantage against Berkane

USM Alger are set to lock horns with RS Berkane in the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup semi-final on Sunday, 21 April.

Kick-off is at 21h00 CAT.
The first-leg encounter is scheduled to take place at the Stade du 5 Juillet in the capital and largest city of Algeria, Algiers.
Alger reached this stage of the tournament after defeating Nigerian club Rivers United 2-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.
The Algerian giants will be looking to go all the way and successfully defend the Confederation Cup having won it last season.
Alger will look to Malian forward Abdoulaye Kanou who scored twice against Rivers at home in the previous round.
Meanwhile, Berkane booked their spot in this stage of the tournament after defeating Abu Salim of Libya 3-2 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.

The Moroccan side will be hoping to go all the way and win the Confederation Cup a joint record three times having clinched the trophy in 2020 and 2022.
Berkane’s inspirational captain Issoufou Dayo, who scored against Abu Salim, could be key to the team’s win over Alger.
Referee Abdel Aziz Mohamed Bouh from Mauritania will be in charge of the first-leg clash between Alger and Berkane.
