Fulham legend blames Iwobi after Liverpool defeat

Fulham legend Mark Schwarzer has blamed Alex Iwobi for his role in the team’s defeat to Liverpool FC.

The Cottagers succumbed to a 3-1 loss to the Reds in an English Premier League encounter staged at the Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Iwobi’s long pass was intercepted by Havey Eilliot who quickly set up Ryan Gravenberch and the Dutch midfielder netted to make it 2-1 to Liverpool.

“It’s a really good finish from Gravenberch, fantastic – curled into that far post. Again, (Bernd) Leno has no chance,” Schwarzer said on BBC.

“It’s a really poor pass from Iwobi. A really nice, cultured finish from Ryan Gravenberch.”

Timothy Castagne netted Fulham’s consolation goal while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota also scored for Liverpool.

Iwobi has featured in 28 league matches for Fulham this season – scoring five times and providing two assists.
