Success: Point more important than my goal

Udinese striker Isaac Success insists the 1-1 draw with Napoli on Monday has boosted the morale of the team as they look to beat the drop this season.

The Nigeria international rescued a crucial point for the Little Zebras with a dramatic 92nd-minute equaliser to cancel out compatriot Victor Osimhen’s 51st-minute opener at the Bluenergy Stadium.

Success finally broke his duck for the campaign, having failed to score in his previous 24 Serie A appearances, but he was adamant the point gained against the Partenopei meant more than his first goal for the club in 13 months.

Fabio Cannavaro’s side remain without a win in their last seven games, although the stalemate kept their survival hopes alive as they are only two points adrift of safety in 18th place with three matches left.

“The point is more important than the goal, it brings us closer to our goal,” Success was quoted as saying by Napoli Magazine.

“The draw comes against a great team, we wanted to take the three points in front of our fans but now we have to look forward, this draw gives us morale.”
