A Sky Sports reporter has raved about one Nottingham Forest star who has been in fine form during the 2023/24 campaign.

The Reds have had a pretty turbulent season so far, although they have a fighting chance of surviving in the Premier League again.

With two games to play, it’s in their hands and Forest know that one more win should secure survival for another campaign.

Although there have been some difficulties this season, there have still been some strong performances on the pitch.

Now, a Sky Sports reporter has praised one player for his standout season at Forest.

Dougie Critchley raves about Nottingham Forest star Murillo

Forest signed the defender from Corinthians for £10.4 million and Murillo was wanted by Manchester City before moving to the City Ground.

He’s been ever-present in the starting eleven in the Premier League and he’s taken to English football really well.

Murillo has been linked with a number of clubs and now a Sky Sports reporter has raved about the young centre-back.

Dougie Critchley said on X: “Shoutout to Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. I think he’s been excellent this season.

“He’s 21-years-old, only playing professionally for a year but has proven himself to be an excellent dribbler and a great reader of the game.

“Big, big future.”

Forest will face challenge over centre-back

It’s going to be a sad day when Murillo does inevitable leave the football club and it could happen as soon as this summer.

Murillo has been outstanding this season and Who Scored has him as the top dribbler out of every centre-back in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has grown under regular game time and he’s got some of Europe’s top clubs now monitoring.

Forest won’t have the challenge to keep him because that might be taken out of their hands if they receive the money they want.

However, the big challenge is trying to replace him with a similar player, for a similar fee and on someone with as much potential.

Murillo might prove impossible to replace and it will be fascinating to see what actually happens regarding his future in the summer.
