Final curtain being dropped on player's Nottingham Forest stint – Set to move far, far away

It seems Gonzalo Montiel could leave Nottingham Forest and return to South America this summer.

Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola today claims that as the fullback’s parent club Sevilla don’t want to keep him, that’s a great chance for Flamengo to sign him.

It’s said that Nottingham Forest have no intention to buy Montiel from the La Liga side, and will therefore send him back to Spain at the end of the season.

With Sevilla keen on finding a new solution, Nicola says Flamengo could even get Montiel on loan, as long as they pay a fee for that.

The Spanish club would prefer a sale, but that’d be up to the Rio de Janeiro side whether to make the investment.

Montiel has been linked to Flamengo for a while now, and this is seen as a big opportunity for the club to finally land him.

During his loan at Nottingham Forest, he has 16 appearances so far, having featured for just three minutes in their last 11 Premier League matches. So it’s no real surprise they’re choosing not to keep him.
