Newcastle United are likely to bolster their ranks at the end of a challenging season laden with injuries and fatigue.

The Magpies were expected to kick on following last season's top-four finish, but they've struggled to compete on four fronts with the squad they've got.

Newcastle will also have to be mindful of staying on the right side of profit and sustainability regulations so as to not risk points deductions.

The Magpies could therefore look to supplement any big summer purchases with free transfers and top talents with a bright future ahead of them.

Earlier this week, speculation linking the St James’ Park outfit and Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo intensified considerably.

The Northern Echo reported that Newcastle have been in talks with Adarabioyo and his representatives for a number of weeks.

Talks were said to have been fruitful, leading to Adarabioyo reportedly being offered a long-term deal at St James' Park worth more than £100,000-a-week.

The outlet also claimed that Newcastle are 'increasingly likely' to sign the 26-year-old amid interest from the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham.

Now, Fulham boss Marco Silva has provided an update about Adarabioyo’s spot in the team and his future in wake of this speculation.

What has Marco Silva said about Tosin Adarabioyo?

“My decision [to leave him out last weekend] was a technical decision,” BBC Sport quote him as saying ahead of Fulham’s trip to Brentford.

“I know all the noise around himself and his future. I have been speaking to him, I have a close relationship with him like all the players.

“Everything has been clear between myself and him. And from him to me and my staff as well. If he is available to be in the squad he will be in the squad.

“Nothing changed from last week when the news started to come that he won’t be with us next season. I know what he told me and I prefer to keep that between us.

“It is a decision from the player, apart from that, Tosin is ready to play and be in the squad if I decide for him to be there.

“Tosin has to be clear about his future when he decides to be clear about his future. He has to talk about it, of course, we are here to try and prepare as best we can the future of the football club.

“We haven't hid the situation of trying to renew with him, like other players.”

Newcastle will fancy their chances of signing Tosin Adarabioyo

Most of the recent speculation about Aradabioyo has been claiming or suggesting that his time at Fulham is coming to an end.

Silva’s comments seem to suggest that the player will indeed be leaving at the end of the season, though everything seems fine for the time being regarding his role in the squad.

With Newcastle having high hopes of playing in a European competition again next season, they’ll fancy their chances of convincing Adarabioyo of switching west London for Tyneside.
