Carl Starfelt, who left Celtic last year for a La Liga experience, has found himself a 'victim of change' at Celta Vigo after a recent change of manager.

That's according to Faro de Vigo, who cover the defender today and how his fortunes have taken a turn for the worse.

Starfelt moved to the Spanish side from Celtic in the summer in a €5m switch, bringing an end to his two-year stay at Celtic Park after joining from Rubin Kazan in July 2021.

He's been a regular for them this season, with 26 appearances in all competitions to date but things have taken a turn for him after Rafa Benitez was sacked last month.

He was removed from his position after the 4-0 loss to Real Madrid and since them the former Celtic man has managed 22 minutes, 45 minutes and then spent the last two games sat on the bench and not getting off it.

It seems Benitez's replacement, Claudio Giráldez, simply doesn't fancy him as much as Benitez did and so has dropped him from the team.

Whether he can turn things around remains to be seen but he's very much found himself a 'victim of change', something we're sure plenty of other footballers can attest to.
