Report: Leeds United want to sign an attacker who already knows how to replace Crysencio Summerville

Leeds United are in the market for a new attacker as Crysencio Summerville gears up to join West Ham United.

Summerville is set to join West Ham in the very near future, and Leeds need a replacement through the door quickly.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has been linked with a move to Leeds, but now, the Whites are apparently looking at a more continental option.

Leeds interested in Sontje Hansen

According to Voetbal International, Leeds United are interested in signing Dutch winger, Sontje Hansen.

The attacker has just had a solid season with NEC in the Eredivisie where he scored five goals in the Dutch League.

Hansen is a product of the Ajax academy, and off the back of his schooling in the Netherlands, he does have a similar profile to Crysencio Summerville.

Interestingly, this wouldn't be the first time Hansen has been tasked with replacing Summerville in his career.

Sontje Hansen has already replaced Crysencio Summerville

Leeds need to find a player who is capable of replacing Summerville, and now, they're looking at a player who has already done it before.

Indeed, Hansen was the man who took Summerville's place in the Netherlands U21s set-up.

Summerville's last appearance for the Dutch youth side came in June 2023, and two months later, Hansen made his debut for the Netherlands U21s playing in the same position.

Hansens's performances for the Netherlands U21s have been solid so far, grabbing two assists and a goal in three appearances so far, and if he can have the same effect at Leeds when tasked with replacing Summerville, he will be a great signing.

Birmingham City are also credited with an interest in the winger, but Leeds would surely be favourites in this race if it came to it. After all, Leeds are looking to be promoted back to the Premier League, while Birmingham are currently in League One.
