Bristol Rovers are keen to hand Scott Sinclair a new deal, as per a report by BristolLive.

Bristol Rovers want to keep hold of the winger this summer ahead of next season.

Sinclair, 35, is out of contract in late June and is due to become a free agent as things stand.

BristolLive report that the Gas’ boss Matt Taylor is eager to secure an extension with the attacker.

Bristol Rovers want to tie up deal

Keeping hold of Sinclair would be a shrewd bit of business by Bristol Rovers.

He injects experience into their ranks and has showed this term that he is showing no signs of slowing down just yet.

The ex-Premier League man has made 32 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with four goals.

Sinclair moved back to the Memorial Ground in 2022 and fired six goals in the last campaign.

He has played over 550 games in his career to date having had spells in the past at Chelsea, Swansea City, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Celtic and Preston North End.

The ex-England youth international is now back where it all started for him and the Pirates don’t want him to depart anytime soon.

Bristol Rovers are currently sat in 15th place in the League One table and have three fixtures left to get through.

They have a big summer ahead as ex-Exeter City and Rotherham United manager Taylor looks to put his own stamp on the squad with some of his own signings.

The Gas won 3-1 away at Cheltenham Town last time out after goals by Sinclair, Brandon Aguilera and Elkan Baggott.

They are back in action this weekend with a home clash against Cambridge United as they look to make it back-to-back wins.
