Derby County, Portsmouth and QPR are interested in Celtic youngster Bosun Lawal, according to a report by The Scottish Sun.

The Football League trio could all try and lure the midfielder back to England this summer following his season on loan at Fleetwood Town.

Lawal, 20, has impressed during his time at Highbury Stadium despite the Cod Army’s relegation to League Two.

The Scottish Sun claim his performances have seen him emerge on the radar of Derby County, Portsmouth and QPR.

Celtic have a big decision to make on what to do with Lawal ahead of the next campaign.

Brendan Rodgers could keep hold of him as competition and depth in his squad or may seek to send him out the exit door on a temporary basis again to get more experience.

The youngster is under contract at Celtic Park until the summer of 2026 and has benefitted from his game time at Fleetwood Town in League One.

Lawal started his career in Ireland with St. Kevin’s Boys and Bohemians before moving over to England when Watford came calling in 2019.

He then spent two years with the Hornets before Celtic lured him up to Scotland and he has since been a regular for the Hoops’ B team in the Lowland League.

Derby County have secured promotion back to the Championship following their 2-0 win over Carlisle United this weekend. Paul Warne will be eager to boost his ranks over the coming months to ensure that they are prepared for next term.

Portsmouth have won the third tier title already and ended their impressive season with an away victory at Lincoln City. John Mousinho’s men, like the Rams, will be looking to be active on the transfer front.

QPR will be in the same league again next year after winning 4-0 at home to Leeds United. The London club could see Lawal as a long-term option in the middle of the park but there appears to be a lot of competition for his signature.
