Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers are alongside Preston North End in tracking Exeter City’s Reece Cole, Football Insider has said.

Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers have been battling it out at the top end of the League One table all season. Pompey can win the title on Tuesday night after they drew with the Trotters at the weekend.

Ian Evatt’s side face Shrewsbury Town for their game in hand on 2nd placed Derby County knowing they can’t afford anymore slip ups over the final matches of the campaign.

Now, it is claimed the third-tier pair could be set to do battle in the transfer market too.

Football Insider reports that both Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers are keeping tabs on Reece Cole of Exeter City. The midfielder, who is also on Preston North End’s radar, sees his contract expire in 2025.

26-year-old Cole has successfully worked his way back up the leagues after leaving Brentford in 2020. He has seven goals and three assists this season, with three goals and two assists coming over the last seven League One games.
