Hull City pair Jake Leake and Callum Jones have returned from their loan spells at Tranmere Rovers and Forest Green Rovers respectively.

Hull City have decisions to make regarding the future of the pair at the MKM Stadium.

The duo have both been playing in League Two this season following their temporary exits last summer.

Tranmere Rovers have confirmed on their retained list that Leake’s loan has ended, whilst Forest Green Rovers have done the same with Jones.

Leake has struggled with injury in this campaign at Tranmere Rovers under former Hull City boss Nigel Adkins.

The defender, 21, has played only eight matches in all competitions for the Birkenhead outfit, six of which have come in the league.

It has been a frustrating spell for the left-back and his situation with the Tigers is up in the air due to competition for his position from the likes of Ryan Giles, Matty Jacob, Brandon Fleming and James Furlong.

Leake has played for his parent club for his whole career to date and has also had spells at Boston United and Scunthorpe United in the past.

As for Jones, he still has another year left on his contract at Hull City. The 23-year-old couldn’t prevent Forest Green Rovers from relegation to the National League this term.

He made 19 appearances during his time in Gloucestershire and chipped in with a single goal.

The Tigers signed the ex-Wales youth international back in 2019 and he has since featured on 11 occasions for the East Yorkshire club, as well as having stints away at Morecambe and Grimsby Town before his switch to the New Lawn.

Hull City face Plymouth Argyle away this weekend on the final day. If they win at Home Park and Preston North End pick up three points at West Brom, Liam Rosenior’s men would sneak into the play-offs.
