Morecambe keen on Accrington Stanley coach

Doolan is an experienced coach but Morecambe’s chances of landing him depend on what happens with his situation at Accrington.

The North West club have a big decision to make on who to bring in as Coleman’s permanent replacement.

They are currently sat in 16th place in League Two but are winless in their last five league games. Stanley were thumped 3-0 at home by Bradford City last time out.

Doolan started his coaching career with spells in the academies at Liverpool and Everton before linking up with Wigan Athletic.

He then joined the first-team backroom staff at the DW Stadium in 2013 before moving on for stints at Hibernian and Rotherham United.

Coleman then brought him to Accrington in 2017 and he has been with the Lancashire outfit for the past seven years. However, his future is up in the air right now, despite being handed the caretaker reins.

Morecambe could try and tempt him away from the Wham Stadium and they find themselves in 10th place at the moment. They were relegated from League One last year and are eyeing an immediate promotion back to the third tier.

The Shrimps were beaten 3-1 at home by Wrexham over the weekend but are only a point outside the play-offs with 10 matches left to play.
