Notts County, Walsall eyeing free transfer swoop for League Two midfielder

Notts County and Walsall are both keen on Morecambe’s out-of-contract midfielder Jake Taylor, reporter Alan Nixon has said on his Patreon.

Notts County and Walsall will both be playing League Two football next season. They finished 14th and 11th in the League Two table respectively, and will now turn their attentions to resting up before preparing for the 2024/25 campaign.

New signings with inevitably be a part of their summer plans, and a new name has been linked with both the Magpies and the Saddlers.

Writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon states that Morecambe midfielder Jake Taylor is a target for Notts County and Walsall as the summer transfer window moves closer.

The 25-year-old is out of contract soon and with the Shrimps’ players pay being delayed, it could be that a number of those with expiring deals head elsewhere.

Taylor is among them and with suitors in League Two, a move seems feasible.

The former Nottingham Forest and Port vale man played 32 times across all competitions this season, taking his appearance total for Morecambe to 59. Along the way, he’s managed a goal and two assists.
