Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is on the front page of Wednesday's editions of Mundo Deportivo and Sport as Barcelona are keen on signing him in the next window.

The La Liga side weren't able to sign him last summer, but the situation could be different this time around.

Mundo, on their front page, say it's 'feasible' for Barca to sign the Manchester City player, and explain their reasons within the report.

The Catalan club are preparing a strategy to enter the market with a 1:1 rule, where they can reinvest every euro earned through transfers in strengthening their squad.

Silva is the one they like the most for midfield and sources close to him have told Mundo that he considers the next window as the 'ideal time' to leave Manchester City.

The Portugal international has a €58m release clause and this is affordable for Barcelona, as long as they return to the 1:1 rule.

Sport say the 30-year-old is 'crazy' about Barca and his wish to join them hasn't changed. He thinks his 'time is over' at Manchester City, also because his family wants to leave England, and La Liga is his favourite destination.

Pep Guardiola's side are well aware of his wish to join Barcelona and are ready to sanction a move if his clause is activated.

Taking this into account, Sport suggest Barca could negotiate a deal with Manchester City for Silva, who earns over €10m per year at Manchester City and is willing to take a pay cut to join Barca.

This once again feels like the Catalan media reporting via hope rather than expectation, but maybe the summer can be different. They’d almost certainly need sales first.
