In a bid to combat rising PSR concerns, Manchester United will first need to focus on selling players before they can think about recruitment.

Sir JIm Ratcliffe is already plotting a large-scale summer clearout and if recent reports are anything to go by, not even big-name players like Casemiro and Marcus Rashford are safe.

Players who are currently out on loan are all expected to be moved on and that includes Mason Greenwood, currently plying his trade for Getafe in Spain.

The 22-year-old has 10 goals and six assists already and as relayed by The Peoples Person, Getafe are trying to agree another year long loan for the versatile forward.

Greenwood’s uncertain future

The Red Devils would prefer a straight sale as moving an academy graduate on represents pure profit but they will not sanction an exit on a cut-price deal.

This piece of information become significant considering what CaughtOffside have reported regarding Juventus and Atletico Madrid’s interest in the United forward.

The 20-time English league champions were asking for £40 million which initially saw both Barcelona and the Madrid club distance themselves from a potential move.

The Serie A side were reportedly in the lead and were even willing to use United’s interest in Gleison Bremer as leverage to strike a cheaper deal.

But both the Old Lady and the Rojiblancos’ expected bids are far too low for United’s liking with Juventus’ bid almost derisory in nature.

“The money received from the sale of Greenwood will be used to fund transfers at Man United this summer and sources have told CaughtOffside that Atletico Madrid and Juventus are interested in the winger.

“Atletico have been watching Greenwood during his loan spell in La Liga with Getafe and the Madrid-based club have been impressed by his performances. However, they are not willing to pay the €30m price tag Man United have placed on the player.

“As for Juventus, the Serie A giants are looking to sign a winger during the summer transfer window and Greenwood is on their list of targets. The Italian outfit are ready to make an opening bid of around €15m-17m but it remains to be seen if they officially submit it.”

Derisory bids

United are expected to laugh off these bids and as Sir Jim has indicated in the past, the club are prepared to reintegrate the England international should a suitable bid not arrive.

It would certainly be a controversial move considering what has already transpired in the past. The academy graduate was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was suspended by the club two seasons ago.

Those charges were subsequently dropped, and United's own internal investigation also ended with manager Erik ten Hag keen to reintegrate the academy graduate back into the first team.

But fan backlash meant former CEO Richard Arnold's decision had to be reversed and the club was forced to send him out on loan to Spain. INEOS might just be tempting fate by not making their stand clear at this stage.
