City‘s trip to the Amex Stadium could prove decisive in the Premier League title race with Arsenal and Liverpool.

Norwegian striker Haaland was already a doubt due to a muscular injury.

He asked Pep Guardiola to come off during the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid and missed Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Chelsea at Wembley.

Speaking of the ex-Borussia Dortmund marksman last weekend, Guardiola told BBC Sport: “He’s [Haaland] injured.

“I don’t think it’s much, but he’s not able for today. I don’t know [if he will be back for the next game].”

As for Foden, he featured for the entirety of the match with Chelsea, but was a no-show in training on Tuesday, reports the Manchester Evening News.

It remains unclear why the England international was absent.

But City still have a session scheduled for Wednesday before they make the trip down south.

In positive news for City, defender John Stones was involved in training after being withdrawn against the Blues.

Stones came off at half-time, leading to concern he may have picked up a niggle at the Home of Football.

But the former Everton centre-back looks set to be available to face Brighton.

With Guardiola to speak to the media on Wednesday, it is expected he will issue an update on the fitness of Foden and Haaland.
