Pickford Gets 8, Gueye With 7.5 | Everton Players Rated In Narrow Victory Vs Brentford

Everton entertained Brentford at Goodison Park earlier this evening as they looked to secure all three points at home in the Premier League. The Toffees made a decent start to the game but were held to a 0-0 draw at the half-time interval.

Idrissa Gueye finally opened the goal-scoring for the home side at the hour mark as Sean Dyche’s men ended up earning a narrow 1-0 victory in front of their home fans.

GK: Jordan Pickford – 8/10

Pickford made a few solid saves at the back and secured a well-deserved clean sheet this evening.

RB: Ben Godfrey – 7/10

He put his foot through the ball when required and did enough to keep a clean sheet.

CB: James Tarkowski – 7.5/10

Tarkowski made a lot of important clearances inside his half and won his fair share of aerial duels.

CB: Jarrad Branthwaite – 7/10

He dealt with the danger when needed and was a dominant presence in the air.

LB: Ashley Young – 7.5/10

He performed his defensive duties well and made one good run with the ball.

RW: Jack Harrison – 6.5/10

Harrison was not shy of having a shot at goal but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.

CM: Idrissa Gueye – 7.5/10

Gueye anchored the midfield relatively well and scored the only goal of the contest in the 60th minute.

CM: James Garner – 7/10

He caught the eye at times in the Brentford half but failed to register a goal.

LM: Dwight McNeil – 7.5/10

McNeil made a few promising chances for others around him but there was no goal for him this evening.

CAM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 6/10

He was a quiet presence in the Brentford half but managed to engineer one good chance up top.

ST: Youssef Chermiti – 7/10

Chermiti was a lively presence in the final third and was replaced late in the game.
