Rangers will be on the lookout for new forwards in the summer and the recent team selections from Philippe Clement show exactly what is needed.

Fabio Silva and Dujon Sterling have been drafted in as makeshift wingers but are square pegs in round holes and far away from what the manager needs.

Luca Langoni and Raphael Borges Rodrigues have been linked, however, there could be another player available who knows what the pressure is like at Rangers.

Amad Diallo could be available for Rangers move

After tearing Man Utd's defence apart, Michael Olise could be heading to Old Trafford with a £60m release clause said to be in the Crystal Palace forward’s contract.

There is expected to be a clear-out, regardless of Erik Ten Hag's future, with underperforming, expensive flops, like Antony and Jadon Sancho top of the list for those tipped to move.

Also on the shortlist is Amad Diallo, according to Dean Jones at Sports Lens.

Two years after leaving Rangers, the Ivorian is no further up the pecking order after his £19m move from Atalanta as a teenager.

A short-term deal at Sunderland went well and proved what he is capable of if given a run of games but has featured just nine times for 243 minutes, despite Man Utd's problems.

Diallo took his time to settle at Ibrox, there was enough evidence towards the end of his spell to suggest that he could cause problems for Scottish defences.

His season in the Championship will have stood him in good stead and he would be coming to Glasgow with his eyes wide open.

Rangers need low-risk signings and Diallo makes sense

Rangers are trying to secure a return for Oscar Cortes, potentially on loan, and there is also speculation that a permanent deal for Abdallah Sima is getting closer to becoming a possibility.

Along with Rabbi Matondo, this would give plenty of depth on the left-hand side of the attack.

Diallo, is more comfortable on the right and, as a natural left footed winger, would give Rangers forward line the balance that it has been missing for some time.

It could be the perfect time to deal with Man Utd as they look to clear the decks.

With Rangers needing more quality, an outright purchase might be out of the question, however, a loan to buy deal could benefit all parties.

Diallo would get the minutes he needs to progress, Rangers would get a talented winger and Man Utd would get a player off their wage books and in the shop window.

There will be a lot of changes this summer with six players out of contract and as many as 10 players heading out the door, minimising risk for new signings could be key to success.
