Borna Barisic hasn't always been flavour of the month amongst Rangers fans.

The Croatian international full-back, 31, has had an up-and-down time in Glasgow with that quality left peg suffering juxtaposed against questions of confidence and mentality.

But one thing which no Rangers fan can deny Borna Barisic is his contribution to the club over six long years in Glasgow, a stint which looks set to come to an end this summer.

The defender might've come up short a few times but Borna has given the best years of his footballing career to Rangers and that's something which cannot be forgotten.

Now, a disappointing clip showing the defender clashing with a supporter outside Ibrox following the 4-1 victory over Kilmarnock has begun circulating on the internet.

Barisic clashes with 'Rangers fan' outside Ibrox

Whilst we must stress there is no context to the clip, Borna Barisic is seen remonstrating with a supporter as he exits Ibrox stadium and signs autographs for Rangers fans.

The left-back reacts to something which is said by a supporter in the crowd before a small physical altercation takes place.

With tensions running high ahead of the run-in – and Borna Barisic having reportedly already agreed an exit to Trabzonspor – this is obviously not what fans want to see as the defender prepares to leave the club.

Speculation is rife online surrounding the context of the clash but whatever the case, the clip will be saddening to Rangers fans who won't want to see their players provoked in such a manner.

Whatever anyone's view on a player, riling our own stars up like this is an awful look and we suspect the 'Rangers fan' involved will be regretting this incident.

As will Borna Barisic.

We're also eager not to blow the incident out of proportion, with a visibly annoyed Barisic quickly ushered away.

Rangers star 'really hungry' for Ibrox success

Heading into the weekend's Scottish Premiership clash with Kilmarnock, Philippe Clement was asked about Borna Barisic's potential move to Trabzonspor.

Whilst the Rangers manager didn't confirm nor deny that the Croatian international left-back was set to leave Ibrox, Clement paid tribute to a 'great servant' to the club.

The Gers boss also refuted any suggestion that Barisic is not committed to the cause at Rangers in comments which bring this unfortunate clash into greater view.

"There have been reports for months about a lot of players and a lot of things," Clement told a press conference. "As long as nothing is official and I see the right things in the training and the dressing room, players are selectable.

"Borna will be in the selection from what I have seen until now. If he steps into the building tomorrow with another mindset that is something else.

"I don't believe so. I see somebody who is serving this club already a long time and is really hungry for more titles and more trophies."

Borna Barisic joined Rangers from NK Osijek in the summer of 2018 and has gone on to make over 230 appearances for the club.
