Rangers will have to add more depth to the forward line in the summer when Philippe Clement sets about rebuilding his team.

Kemar Roofe is one of several players who is out of contract and Fabio Silva hasn't done enough to earn a return to Ibrox after his loan deal ends.

One of the strikers who Rangers have been linked with is Bojan Miovski and the manager now knows what sort of price tag the North Macedonia international will command.

Rangers given eye watering Bojan Miovski fee reminder

Clement is fully aware of Miovski's talents having seen him score against his side earlier this season.

Rangers had been outstanding in the first-half of the February clash only to be undone by Miovski's first chance of the game.

Speaking after the 2-1 win, Clement was quick to praise the 24-year old striker when reflecting on the game:

"We played a really good game today. A really dominant game," Clement said at full-time.

"But these are the kind of games you have in a season when the circumstances are not on your side.

"You totally dominate the first-half, you have the chances to score more than one.

"And then you have this one moment, and it is the quality of Miovski. He doesn't need much to score goals."

Several price tags have already been banded about for Bojan Miovski as Aberdeen look to make the most of a player who cost a measly six-figure sum, which begs the question – how did they manage to discover him and Rangers couldn't?

A discussion on Clyde Superscoreboard saw Miovski compared to Celtic's Adam Idah and a £5m valuation discussed for both players, only for host Gordon Duncan to intervene:

"I'm reliably informed that £5m wouldn't cut it for Bojan Miovski.

"That's the word that's reaching me right now.

"I'm reliably informed, that you're going to have to add a bit on.

"My source is adamant that £5m won't cut it."

Miovski fee a reminder for Rangers recruitment team

Inflation at the top end of the transfer market is slowly filtering down to leagues that are less financially well off.

With Scottish clubs selling to Serie A and the Premier League in recent years, Rangers no longer have first dibs on players that excel elsewhere in the league.

When you look at it objectively, would Rangers sell a 25-goal a season striker for £5m? No.

For perspective, our valuation of Alfredo Morelos was £20m, was he really that much better than Bojan Miovski?

Unless Rangers sell Cyriel Dessers or Danilo, Philippe Clement is unlikely to make another big money addition to his striker collection.

Abdallah Sima is looking increasingly likely that he will return to Ibrox after the summer and Oscar Cortes also did enough in his short time before injury to suggest that his loan deal will be made permanent.

Going off the reported fees, that's £10m out the door already and Mohamed Diomande takes that to £14.3m.

Miovski is a quality player and would have scored goals for Rangers, however, the time to sign him was before he went to Aberdeen.

A detail Nils Koppen and his recruitment team has to get right.
